You've asked and we're answering! Yes, Juniper students can access i-Ready for additional math and reading practice at home. Just go to Clever.com and have your student "login with Google." Their username is their lunch#@husdstudent.com and the password is the same password that they use to sign in to their chromebooks. Once they login, students will click on the i-Ready icon to get started.
For 1st graders: The default password is 12345678. All other students have an individual password.
As a reminder, the recommended time frame for i-Ready is no more than 15-20 minutes daily in math and/or reading.
Have fun!

Due to rain in the forecast the Hesperian Ninja Warrior Finals will be rescheduled to FRIDAY, APRIL 3 2020. Elementary will start at 8:00 AM, middle school at 10:15 AM, and high schools at 11:15 AM.

Our spring deadline for Box Tops submissions is next Monday, March 2nd! Be sure to send all Box Tops in with your student by Friday so that they can be mailed out before the deadline.
You can continue scanning receipts for electronic Box Tops every time you shop, as well, or send them into school with your child and we will scan them for you. Let's continue to work together to earn those extra funds for our Juniper kiddos!

Notice Regarding Open Enrollment
In accordance with California Ed Code, residents of the Hesperia Unified School District may apply to enroll their students in a school other than their neighborhood school for the 2020-2021 school year, if space is available. For example, if you live in Carmel Elementary School’s boundaries, but would like your child to attend Juniper Elementary School, you would need to submit an application for an intra-district transfer within the open enrollment period.
Parent letters regarding open enrollment have been sent via e-mail to all students in both English and Spanish, and can also be found on our school website at www.juniperelementary.org. Click Explore, Documents, and then go to the Open Enrollment folder. If you would like a hard copy of this letter, please stop by the Juniper front office to request one.
As a reminder, the open enrollment application process is not the method by which students apply for alternative education programs within the district.
Applications are due by no later than March 20th, 2020. They can be submitted directly to the school that you are applying to or to the district office.
Please feel free to contact our office with any questions. Thank you!

This week we celebrate Kindness Week! Our students have partnered with Sultana High School's ROTC to help decorate boxes that will be filled and sent to servicemen along with letters from our students.

**Correction: Principals with Pencils will be in front of Stater Bros. in the old KMart parking lot (16904 Main St, Hesperia) from 10-12 today, Sat., Aug. 10th. Hope to see you there! #OURJuniper

Hesperia Unified School District is pleased to announce that we will be using the Raptor Visitor Management System in all of our schools as part of our campus safety programs for students and faculty. All visitors, volunteers, and visiting staff will be asked to present a government-issued ID, such as a Driver’s License, state ID, etc. The Raptor system only checks the visitor's name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders. No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded. The system is not connected to any other database such as the Department of Motor Vehicles, and information is not shared with any outside agency.
This implementation will help increase the efficiency in our offices, allowing District-approved volunteers to spend their valuable time in classrooms instead of in the front office. Thank you, in advance, for your support in enhancing safety in our schools.

Welcome back! We can't wait to see you all this morning! Don't forget, our Million Minutes in March reading logs are due today! We hope to add to our over 300,000 minutes read so far! #OURJuniper

Hesperia Unified School District serves and educates over 23,000 children in the City of Hesperia and adjacent areas in the high desert of San Bernardino County. Though our students continue to achieve at a high level, many of our school facilities are outdated and require repairs and upgrades to continue to serve our community well. The District is currently in the process of evaluating our local schools’ facility needs. The scope of improvements identified is far more than the current funding sources available, so the HUSD Governing Board is considering all options for addressing those needs. Community input is a critical component of this ongoing process as we continue to plan for the future of our schools. Please make your voice heard and complete the following online survey to let us know your priorities for our local schools.
